Caterpillars are more than just future butterflies—they are essential members of our ecosystem, each relying on specific host plants to survive and grow. During this intimate, behind-the-scenes style program, you’ll learn how to identify common caterpillars, discover the fascinating relationships between native butterflies and their host plants, and see these incredible insects up close within the exhibit.
As part of the experience, each participant will receive a native host plant to take home, making it easy to begin creating habitat for butterflies in your own landscape.
