Dive into stories and the beauty of conversation at Leaves of Literature, Daniel Stowe Conservancy’s book club. Each month, we explore a thoughtfully selected book—often inspired by nature, conservation or the botanical world—and gather to share insights, discuss themes and connect with fellow readers in a welcoming, relaxed environment.

Whether you’re an avid reader or simply looking for a way to engage with stories and the outdoors, Leaves of Literature offers a cozy space to explore new ideas, exchange perspectives and enjoy meaningful conversation among friends and nature lovers alike.

The group will focus on reading a book a month from various genres – both fiction and nonfiction!

No pre-registration or previous participation is required; simply read the book of the month by the book club date and bring your curiosity, a blanket or lawn chair and the book!

A note on December’s Book Club:

We’re adding a fun, optional Blind Book Exchange to our December Book Club gathering!
If you’d like to participate, bring a book you’d love to share with another reader. Wrap it up so the title and author remain a mystery! Get creative with your wrapping—we love a sustainable twist! Repurpose newspaper, old maps, fabric scraps, leftover wrapping paper, packing materials, or whatever you have on hand.
Here’s the twist: On the outside of your wrapped book, include a short, intriguing blurb describing the story without revealing the title or author. Give us just enough clues to spark curiosity!
During our gathering, participants will select a mystery book based on its description and head home with a surprise new read.
Participation is completely optional. You’re welcome to join us for Book Club whether or not you bring a book to exchange.
