Registration is now open for Stowe’s popular 2026 Scarecrow Hollow exhibit! In autumn, our Lost Hollow Children’s Garden transforms to Scarecrow Hollow, a delightful collection of creatively-designed scarecrows crafted by our community. These scarecrows can be silly, spooky or anything in between and we love browsing Scarecrow Hollow to find our favorites designed by individuals, schools, organizations and families.

Scarecrow Hollow Details

Registration Period: Saturday, August 1-Wednesday, September 9

Who Can Participate? You can register as an individual, family, school, nonprofit/civic group, small business or corporation

What’s the Cost to Participate? Pricing is as follows:

  • Individual/Family (Members & Non-members) – $50
  • Schools – $50
  • Nonprofits + Civic Groups – $100
  • Small Businesses – $250
  • Corporations – $500

PSA: Each scarecrow will include participant information on display throughout the exhibit. This is a great opportunity to highlight or organization or business!

Frame Pick-Up Period at the Big Leaf Café Patio: Saturday, September 5-Wednesday, September 16

Exhibit Dates: Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, November 1

Contest: In-person and online visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite scarecrows in each category to determine the winners. Voting runs from Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, October 25, with the winners being announced the week of Monday, October 26. Winners will be highlighted for the remainder of the exhibit.
Prizes
All scarecrows are judged together
First Place: 10 tickets to Holidays at the Garden
Second Place: 6 tickets to Holidays at the Garden
Third Place: 4 tickets to Holidays at the Garden

Rules: This is a fun exhibit so NO scary, religious or political scarecrows will be accepted. Please note that you must submit payment via the link that’s provided after submitting this form to complete your registration. Registration will not be valid until payment has processed. Once payment has been processed, you will receive an email from our team with instructions for frame pick up and installation of completed scarecrow.
