In autumn, our Lost Hollow Children’s Garden transforms to Scarecrow Hollow, a delightful collection of creatively-designed scarecrows crafted by our community. These scarecrows can be silly, spooky or anything in between and visitors can vote throughout the month to crown three scarecrows “Best in Crow”! Want to participate?

The Village Harvest: A Fall Fest at Farmhouse

Saturday, September 27 | | 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. | Free (excluding select workshops) 

There’s a crisp scent in the air, tumbling leaves on the trails and seasonal treats all around! Celebrate the start to autumn at The Village Harvest: A Fall Fest at Farmhouse with a Harvest Market, workshops, live music and so much more.  Be sure to stop by The Gardens to explore the opening of our Scarecrow Hollow exhibit, too. The Village Harvest: A Fall Fest at Farmhouse | 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. | The Village at Stowe | Free (excluding select workshops) 

Activities throughout the entire festival include henna and face glitter stations, carnival-style games with prizes and shopping at The Farmhouse Garden Center + The Trailhead Store.


Dried Flower Gourds Workshop | 11 a.m. | Farmhouse Courtyard | $15 

Create your very own unique, handmade fall décor in this crafting workshop! Using medium-sized birdhouse gourds, beautiful autumnal dried flowers in a variety of shades, and guidance from a Stowe staff member, you’ll design a special nature-inspired gourd to take home. Use it as a festive table centerpiece, or a bit of fall flair on the patio! Perfect for brightening your porch, garden or any indoor space this season!


Guided Walk | Noon | Free 

Join a member of our Recreation team for a guided walk around our pond loop trails.


Pickin’ on the Porch | Noon-4 p.m. | The Trailhead Store Porch | Free

Join us for a Pickin’ on the Porch double header during Fall Fest! Enjoy the toe-tappin’ tunes of Equally Yoked from noon-2 p.m. and John David Tice from 2-4 p.m. as you sip on coffee, wine or beer.


Harvest Market | 1-6 p.m. | Outside The Farmhouse | Free

Is there a better match than fall and a farmer’s market? Stroll through the Harvest Market from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m., where local vendors will be offering seasonal goods, farm-fresh staples and treats galore! Be sure to stop inside Farmhouse for even more goodies, from native plants to gardening tools to home decor!


Butterfly Shadowbox Workshop | 1 p.m. | Farmhouse Courtyard | $40 

Remember summer’s vibrancy and create your own one-of-a-kind piece of thoughtful, hand-crafted fall decor by preserving a dried butterfly sample from our Butterfly Bungalow! You’ll design a stunning framed display in this guided workshop: using 8″ x 8″ shadowboxes and decorative supplies, you’ll arrange beautiful, ethically sourced butterfly specimens to create a completely unique work of art, perfect for your home or as a gift. All supplies are included (but if you’ve got a favorite bit of decorative paper, cloth, or dried flowers you’d like to include in your piece, we welcome them!)


Apple Tasting | 2 p.m. | The Farmhouse | Free while supplies last 

Join us to sample some of our favorite varieties from the season’s harvest – get ’em before they’re gone!


Autumn Kids’ Craft | 3 p.m. | Free

Jeepers Creepers 5k + 10k Race

Saturday, October 4 | 8 a.m. | $39.05 for 5k, $49.65 for 10k (prices increase October 3)

Bust out those Halloween costumes early, sweat a little bit and have a spooktacular time! Beautiful, flowing trails in the midst of the autumn colors and a festive atmosphere will make this race the perfect kick off to fall and spooky season.
