You also have the option to pre-register for a free Info Session on August 21 and/or 22 that includes a brief orientation\, survey materials\, and guidance before participants spread throughout the gardens to complete their official 15-minute pollinator count. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting out\, join us for an educational and enjoyable experience in the great outdoors. \nWhat to Expect: \n\nGuided bird-walk along the Garden trails\, meeting outside the Garden’s Visitors Pavilion.\nLearn about local bird species\, their habitats\, and behaviors from an experienced birder.\nDiscover hidden gems and scenic spots within the Garden while observing birds in their natural environment.\nBring your own pair of binoculars if you have them to enhance your birdwatching experience.\n\nImportant Information: \n\nThis event is open to all ages and levels of birdwatching experience. Pets are not allowed to accompany on these walks.\nPlease dress appropriately for hiking and outdoor exploration. DESCRIPTION:Weekly on Wednesdays | 11:30 a.m.-Noon | Butterfly Bungalow | $10 (+Garden admission or membership)  \nBecome part of the magic as you help welcome our newest butterflies to the Butterfly Bungalow.During this behind-the-scenes experience\, participants will take part in releasing butterflies into the exhibit. Seated among hundreds of free-flying butterflies\, you’ll carefully open the protective envelopes and watch as each butterfly begins its first moments in its new home. Some immediately take flight\, while others take a little longer to stretch their wings and wake up\, making every release unique. \nTo provide the best possible experience for both guests and the new butterflies\, the Butterfly Bungalow will be closed to the public during this small-group event limited to 10 participants. The release itself typically lasts about 15–20 minutes\, but we’ve reserved up to 30 minutes to allow plenty of time to enjoy the moment. \nParticipants should arrive at the Butterfly Bungalow 10–15 minutes before the start time so we can begin promptly and maximize time inside the exhibit.

The data collected helps researchers\, land managers\, educators\, and conservation organizations better understand pollinator populations\, habitat use\, and long-term trends while supporting conservation efforts across the Southeast.
